SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (July 2013) – The New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) is preparing to host its 2013 Fall Leadership Summit, which is scheduled to take place September 22-24, 2013 at the Saratoga Hilton & Saratoga Springs City Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. The NYSCOSS is encouraging participation by all of its members and supporters, including NYSCOSS member and Cattaraugus-Allegheny representative, Carl Militello. With more than three decades of experience as an educational leader and change agent, Carl Militello served as a superintendent for several school districts in New York over a period of 15 years.
With the theme “Mission Critical: Saving Education Now,” this year’s summit will feature networking opportunities, exhibits, and educational workshops designed to inform educators on how to creatively solve problems in the classroom. This year’s keynote speakers include Dr. Irvin Scott from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; NYS Education Commissioner Dr. John B. King, Jr.; and Kevin Honeycutt, a technology integrationist.
Established in 1883, the Council supports more than 800 superintendents and assistant superintendents in New York. The organization is dedicated to promoting education and leadership, and to providing development and networking opportunities for its members.
